L'Hotel

Baby, it's cold outside...but it's nice and warm at the bar of L'Hotel, a sumptuous 19th century hotel with a Jacques Garcia designed decor, on the left bank in Paris. The book-lined, velvet-chaired, low-lit ground floor bar is a great place to cosy up for a warming afternoon tea or a romantic evening drink.

What's more, the hotel's historic charm is authentic with literary legends Oscar Wilde and Jorge Luis Borges both having stayed here.  If it was good enough for them, it's good enough for us.

13 rue des Beaux-Arts, 75006 Paris
Bar open until 1am daily

  1. Great spot - i love l'hotel. Either for a cocktail or for a wine or tea in the bar. I love the cozy atmosphere, the history, the nice design of the hotel. I'm curious to try the restaurant one of these days, too!

  3. Have had many casual meetings there, it's lovely! One time I was there, a Louis Vuitton commercial was filming :)

  4. Can you just pop by and grab a drink? Also, are the prices pretty normal, or are they a bit of a shock? Planning outings for my trip next month!

  5. Hi Laura,
Thanks for commenting! Yes, absolutely - you can just rock up and have a drink in the bar bit. Prices are surprisingly reasonable for drinks - I think it's about €5 for a pot of tea, from what I remember.
    Hope that helps!
