Levi's, the mighty American jeans brand, has set up shop on the iconic French shopping street of the Champs Elysées and to celebrate this meeting of France and the US, the brand has invited two of the world's biggest street artists - one from each side of the pond - to create a limited edition collection.

To celebrate the collaborative sprit between France and the US, André from Paris and Shepard Fairey (aka Obey) from Los Angeles have both created denim jackets and T-shirts emblazoned with their signature styles for Levi's, on sale at the denim giant's brand new Champs Elysées store now.

André's cheeky pink character, Mr A, with his winking eye and big smile, has made him famous on the Paris streets and beyond - as has André's other very successful venture, Le Baron, the exclusive club which started in Paris and now has venues worldwide.

Shepard Fairey has put up his stenciled Andre the Giant image around the world (check out the one just off rue Oberkampf in Paris' 11th arrondissement), known as the "Obey Giant" project, but came into the mainstream's conscience with his
Hope poster for Barack Obama's election campaign in 2008. Fairey is also a successful DJ, as he proved at last night's VIP party at the Levi's store, dropping some West Coast hip hop to a delighted crowd.

To celebrate this collaboration between Levis and André and Shepard Fairey, a workshop is taking place this Saturday 16th June at the Levi's store on the Champs Elysées, where you can make T-shirts, stickers and badges in the presence of the artists, open to all.

Denim, denim everywhere! I love it. I'm in high hopes that I can find a sleeveless denim top. That would be a super great find.
