Black Block - New Shop on Rue Charlot

Black Block, the hip shop set up by Paris's favourite graffiti artist and man-about-town Andre, has temporarily shut up shop at Palais de Tokyo whilst renovations are carried out at the museum. In the meantime, they are taking over Le Bouclard on the rue Charlot in the Marais, with their well-sourced arty gadgets and goodies, displayed in the Black Block trademark fridges. Amongst the gems are plenty of pieces by Andre adorned with his alter ego Mr A, including gloves and his bearbrick figures, and there are also bits and pieces from French brand Astier de Villatte, Japanese bags by Porter, and the gorgeous snow domes from Martin Margiela Home. It's a great place to pick up a gift, or indeed to treat oneself.

In addition to this dedicated space on rue Charlot, during the year-long Palais de Tokyo renovations, Black Block will also be reincarnated as a pop-up shop, the location of which will change every couple of months.  The first pop up shop is at Surface to Air's store in the Marais, until 6th April.

We wish Black Block every success whilst in its temporary locations and look forward to welcoming it back to Palais de Tokyo in March 2012 once the building works are complete.
