UPDATE MAY 2014: Mary has now closed its doors for good, alas.
Authentic Italian icecream in Paris, in a low key setting without a queue of noisy tourists? Gelato made on the premises in the traditional way from all natural ingredients? Oh yes, it exists. And it exists on the incredibly on-the-money Northern Marais street of Rue Charles-Francois Dupuis, next to our new favourite coffee shop Merce and the Muse, just down the road from our favourite hairdressers Messieurs Dames, served by the charming (and bona-fide Italian) Mary herself. So the question is: coffee, haircut then icecream or icecream, haircut then coffee? Or my personal favourite, haircut followed by a hand-dripped coffee, finished with two scoops of Mary's finest (stracciatella and fragola, if you're offering).

...if anyone's looking for me, I'll be on rue Charles-Francois Dupuis.
Mary,

This looks heavenly... when the sun comes back, I'm so there.
ReplyDeleteThanks kim!
You're welcome, Shannon. It IS heavenly - try it out next time you're in the area, whether it's sunny or not! Kim x
ReplyDeleteMaybe the chocolat molleux chez Tartes Kluger will have to wait today... a sunny Saturday? I think Mary is the way to go!
